Description: 

Whether you are looking to refine your garment sewing skills or simply enjoy a creative day with others, this workshop provides the space, tools, and guidance to help you succeed.  Join Maureen for a hands-on garment sewing workshop designed for all skill levels.

 

Participants should bring their own sewing projects and will receive personalized guidance on garment construction, including laying out and cutting pattern pieces, mastering sewing techniques, and troubleshooting fitting issues.   The instructor will be available throughout the session to answer questions and provide guidance / demonstrations whenever possible.

This workshop offers a supportive environment where you can connect with fellow garment sewers, share ideas and work on your projects at your own pace.

Project Pattern and Fabrics

Participant should bring their own pattern of choice, fabrics and notions.

 

Watergirl Quilt Co does have some garment patterns and fabrics.

 

Sewing supplies

All sewing supplies should be brought by participants, such as:

- rotary cutter

- seam ripper
- straight pins

- pattern weights
- scissors / snips for clipping threads
- thread  for your project

- garment notions (buttons, elastic, etc.)

 

Sewing Machine
- bring your machine
- user guide / manual; it is always good to bring your user guide / manual in case you run into any problems.
- pedals, power cords, pressor feet

 

Machine rentals
Don't feel like bringing your machine with you?  Rental machines are available (limited quantity).  For a one time fee of $25 you may rent a BERNINA 475 to use in our classroom for the duration of the Learn to Quilt classes.  Please contact our store directly to make arrangements. 


In our classroom at Watergirl Quilt Co

You will be able to enjoy the use of our:
- tables; sit / stand mechanical raise and lower
- chairs NOTE: for added comfort bring a seat cushion.
- iron and ironing boards
- cutting mats on large table for cutting

Complimentary
Coffee and tea will be available in our kitchenette. Please bring a travel mug or sealed cup to avoid any spillage. Tap water is drinkable.

 

Lunch
A light lunch is included in the class fee, featuring a salad bar with a variety of proteins, vegetables, legumes, and dessert.

  
NOTE: our fridge space is limited, so we suggest you make use of a thermal lunch bag if you bring any of your own food / snacks.

People suffer from various allergies and medical conditions.  To help avoid any incidents, we request you do not bring or wear the following:

  • Seafood
  • Peanuts
  • Perfumes / scented products
