Refund policy

We have a 14-day return policy, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return. 

The customer will be responsible for the cost of shipping any returned goods as well as the cost of shipping replacement orders. If orders are damaged through shipping, please photograph the items and send the photo and an explanation to our email address. We will file a claim with the shipper and send out a replacement order as soon as possible. Do not return the damaged good unless you are requested to do so.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase. 

Any notions in their original packing, unopened can be returned within 14 days of purchase with the original receipt and the credited amount will be issued as a store credit.

To start a return, you can contact us at info@watergirlquiltco.com. Please note that returns will need to be sent to the following address: P.O Box 907, Prescott, ON, Canada K0E 1T0. Please do not ship returns to us until you have received approval from a staff member.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you  instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Exceptions / non-returnable items
There are no refunds or exchanges of cut fabrics. There are no refunds or exchanges on custom kits. If you discover a damaged piece of fabric, please bring it back to the store for us to look at or send a close-up photograph to our email address. If you are concerned about ordering fabric without seeing it first, just set up a video shopping call with us before ordering.

Sewing machines are non-refundable but if you feel that you should have chosen a  higher grade of BERNINA or bernette, we will consider taking your machine back at the original purchase price to apply the store credit to a more expensive model. This must be within 30 days of receipt of the original purchase.

Due to copyright issues, there will be no refund or exchange on patterns and books.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.

Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

Inventory Errors and Online Orders

We are human and computers are not, but errors happen there too! Sometimes, there could be an inaccuracy in our inventory levels and we might oversell an item. In that case, we will phone or email you to offer a substitution or the opportunity to wait until the item is restocked. 

If we are unable to fulfill the ordered item or provide a suitable substitute, a store credit will be issued to you for the cost of that product. 

Classes and Retreat

Should you decide to cancel your registration more than 2 weeks prior to the class date, you will receive a full store credit on a Watergirl Quilt Co. gift card.  If you cancel 2 weeks or less, prior to class date, you will forfeit your full registration fee. 

If you are unable to attend, you do have the option of finding your own replacement participant but Watergirl Quilt Co. will not assist with this or give any fee credit to the original participant. You would be required to email us the name and contact information of your replacement.

If Watergirl Quilt Co. has to cancel an event that you have paid for, you will receive a full refund.  Occasionally classes and retreats may be cancelled if the minimum number of 4 required participants has not been reached prior to the class.  In this case, a full refund will be issued to you via your original payment method; if payment method was by credit or debit.  If the original payment was by cash, you will be issued the full refund on a Watergirl Quilt Co gift card.  These refunds will be issued within 14 days of the cancellation.  You may also apply the credit amount to a different class.
