We want you to feel confident ordering fabric from Watergirl Quilt Co. online.

Our Promise

We check your fabric as we cut it to ensure it meets our quality standards. If your fabric arrives with a manufacturer defect, or an error on our part, we’ll make it right at no extra cost to you.

Custom-Cut Fabric

Because fabric is custom-cut specifically to your order, all fabric sales are final. We cannot accept returns or exchanges due to a change of mind, incorrect quantity ordered, or colour preference. If you are concerned about ordering fabric without seeing it first, just set up a video shopping call with us before ordering.

However, our Flawless Bolt Guarantee means that if there is a qualifying defect or an error on our part, you are protected.

If You Find a Problem

Please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order if you believe your fabric has a manufacturer defect or cutting error. Please include your order number and clear photos of the affected fabric so we can assess the issue.

If the problem is covered by our guarantee, we will provide a replacement for the affected fabric at no additional cost to you. If replacement fabric is unavailable, we will work with you to find an appropriate solution.

A Few Things to Know

Minor variations in colour between your computer/device screen and the actual fabric are not considered defects. Slight variations between dye lots are also a normal characteristic of fabric and are not considered manufacturing defects.

Please inspect your fabric before cutting, washing, sewing, or otherwise altering it. Once fabric has been cut or altered by the customer, we may be unable to replace it.

Your project deserves great fabric. We're committed to making sure that's exactly what you receive.

To start a return, you can contact us at info@watergirlquiltco.com. Please do not ship returns to us until you have received approval from a staff member.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you  instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues
If your shipped order arrives damaged, please photograph the items and send the photo and an explanation to our email address. We will file a claim with the carrier. Do not return the damaged good unless you are requested to do so. We will keep you informed as we work towards resolution.

Notions in their original packing, unopened can be returned within 7 days of purchase with the original receipt and the credited amount will be issued as a store credit. The purchaser is responsible for delivering the item to our store.

Sewing machines are non-refundable but if you feel that you should have chosen a  higher grade of BERNINA or bernette, we will consider taking your machine back at the original purchase price to apply the store credit to a more expensive model. This must be within 30 days of receipt of the original purchase.

Due to copyright issues, there will be no refund or exchange on patterns and books.

All gift cards are final sale.

Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

Refunds

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. 

Cancellation of Online Orders

You may cancel an online order if you change your mind. We do charge a 3% restocking/cancelation fee. This would be 3% of the items being returned or cancelled. 

Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too. If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us at info@watergirlquiltco.com.

Methods of Payment

Our checkout allows you to pay by ShopPay, Paypal, Credit Card and Gift Cards. Please take time to choose the best option for you as we do not offer the option of requesting to change your payment method once the order has been placed. We would love to be flexible on this point but due to time constraints and administrative fees, it is not feasible for us to provide this service. But remember that gift cards do not expire and you can use them next time, if you forget to use them at checkout on your current order. Please do not contact the store asking us to apply discount codes or gift cards once your order has been placed.

Inventory Errors and Online Orders

We are human and computers are not, but errors happen there too! Sometimes, there could be an inaccuracy in our inventory levels and we might oversell an item. In that case, we will phone or email you to offer a substitution or the opportunity to wait until the item is restocked. 

If we are unable to fulfill the ordered item or provide a suitable substitute, 
you will receive a refund to the original payment method the cost of that product. 

Classes and Retreat

Should you decide to cancel your registration more than 2 weeks prior to the class date, you will receive a full store credit on a Watergirl Quilt Co. gift card.  If you cancel 2 weeks or less, prior to class date, you will forfeit your full registration fee. 

If you are unable to attend, you do have the option of finding your own replacement participant but Watergirl Quilt Co. will not assist with this or give any fee credit to the original participant. You would be required to email us the name and contact information of your replacement.

If Watergirl Quilt Co. has to cancel an event that you have paid for, you will receive a full refund.  Occasionally classes and retreats may be cancelled if the minimum number of 4 required participants has not been reached prior to the class.  In this case, a full refund will be issued to you via your original payment method; if payment method was by credit or debit.  If the original payment was by cash, you will be issued the full refund on a Watergirl Quilt Co gift card.  These refunds will be issued within 14 days of the cancellation.  You may also apply the credit amount to a different class.
