Class - BeColourful - Four Seasons Table Runner

There will be a total of 10 instructional hours.

Saturday, September 6th, 2025    10:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (including 30 min lunch)

Sunday, November 16th, 2025      10:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (including 30 min lunch)

Prerequisite: This is a BeColourful level 4 / 6 intermediate and NOT an introductory FPP class.  It is recommended that you are an experienced FPPer and intermediate sewer / quilter (can obtain a ¼” seam).

This NOT a beginner FPP class.  

Description:

The Four Seasons table runner finishes at 20” x 60 ½.  This table runner can also be used as a wall hanging.  Fabric choices of your fabric can make an added distinction of a particular season or a theme for a holiday.   For some colour inspirations can viewed on the BeColourful website.  https://www.becolourful.com/table-runners.html

Skill(s) to learn: intermediate FPP – Foundation Paper Piecing 

Required preparation prior to class:

There will be some fabric cutting prior to the first class as per the pattern instructions for cutting of strips.  More information will be sent out to registered participants a few week closer to the first class.

NOTE: there are multiple versions of this pattern; Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter and Summer Lemonade - the only difference between each is the colour way.

Pattern is included in the class fee.  
NOTE: if you already own the pattern and printed foundation papers - contact the store and the class price will be reduced to $100

Fabric Requirement:

You can customize your fabrics by choosing your own 6. Watergirl Quilt Co. will be offering curated kits.   See some fabric options further down in this post.

Required Sewing and Quilting supplies:

 Thread; Aurifil (40 – 50 wt) is recommended (Jacqueline only uses white, black and navy)

• “Add a Quarter” ruler; 
• Freezer paper
• - pins; Clover fine pins are recommended
• Frixion pens and white chalk pen
• 28 mm rotary cutter and replacement blades
• Scotch Tape
• Chalk Fabric Pen (Sew Line or Bohin)
• Seam Ripper
• Scissors / Snips

Sewing Machine (what to bring):

• your machine (all brands welcome)
• user guide / manual; it is always good to bring in case you run into any problems
• ¼” foot is recommended
• Open toe foot (can be helpful)

Machine Rentals:

Don’t feel like bringing your machine with you?  Rental machines are available (limited quantities).  Please contact the store directly to confirm current pricing and make arrangements.

In our classroom at Watergirl Quilt Co.

You will be able to enjoy the use of our:

• workstation tables; sit / stand, raise & lower mechanical
• chairs    NOTE: for added comfort, bring a seat cushion
• cutting mat at your work station
• cutting mats on large table
• 2 - 3 irons and ironing boards

Complimentary

Coffee and tea will be available in our kitchenette.  Please bring a travel mug or sealed cup to avoid any spillage.  Tap water in our classroom is drinkable.

Lunch

There will be a 30 minute lunch break.   Bring your own lunch / snacks to eat at your workstation.   NOTE: our fridge space is limited, so we suggest you make use of a thermal lunch bag.

Allergy alerts

Customers suffer from various allergies and medical conditions.  To help avoid any incidents, we request you do not bring or wear the following:

• Seafood
• Peanut
• Perfumes / scented products

Arrival:

You may enter via the main door of the store or if someone is in the classroom they can open its door to make it easier to bring your things.   If you start time is prior to store opening, please wait to be let in by your instructor as staff may be busy completing their pre-opening duties.

Parking:

Limited parking spots are available in the parking lot at store level.   Please refer to signage to ensure you are NOT parked in a designated residential parking spot.  Free long term town parking is available on the river side of our building (to the left).  There is NO parking allowed on Water Street.  E-chargers are available within the Shoppers Drug Mart parking lot.  NOTE: there is a time limit for parking at Shoppers Drug Mart.
