Is time running away from you? 

Want to make shoes to match you “me made” bag?  Just imagine, you could make sneakers to match a bag, garment, quilt, hair box, etc. 

Join Watergirl Quilt Co. for this in-person 1 day workshop.  You will be guided in making your very own Jerry Sneakers.  We will be using Tara C. Sinclair’s; UhOh Creations "free" pattern to make our sneakers.  Click here to obtain your free copy of this pattern.  

Depending upon skill level, you will have the ability to complete 1or both sneakers by the end of this Day Retreat!

SneakerKit Soles (required)
The soles (extra fee) that we will using are from "SneakerKit".  You can measure your size according to the instructions.  

Once you have determined your size you may order online or in store to order.  Soles come in 3 colours; black, white or natural (and are subject to availability). 

** Needle and wax thread (matching sole) included with soles.

It is recommended that you purchase your “SneakerKit” sole kit prior to class to ensure you have them for class. Once sizes are sold out, we will not be re-ordering more so shop early.

NOTE: No time has been allotted for sole selection on the day of class.

Supplies

·       ByAnnie’s Soft and Stable or Foam Stabillizer

·       Pre-wound awl bobbins (optional) Wax thread (black, white, natural) on pre-wound bobbins for Sewing Awl

·       Grommets or Eyelets

·       Sewing Awl kit contains needle and bobbin

·       Prym Vario tool (optional)

·       Industrial glue / adhesive  (optional)

·       Dritz Fray Check (optional

Learn something new and spend time doing what you love!  There is sure to be good company, conversation and some laughter along the way. This is a great way for friends from different locations to meet up together and enjoy their passion for sewing.
  

Required Sewing and Quilting supplies:

·       Thread; polyester thread is recommended for quilting, colour; your choice (match or contrast your fabric choice(s)

·       Scissors / snips

·       pins; Clover fine pins are recommended

·       Frixion pens and white chalk pen; something that will show on your fabric

·        28 mm rotary cutter and replacement blades.  You will essentially be cutting through a quilt, so this is a good time to start with a fresh blade

 Sewing Machine (what to bring):

·              your machine (all brands welcome)

·              user guide / manual; it is always good to bring in case you run into any problems

·              foot for quilting (Walking foot, any general purpose foot, BSR, etc)

In our classroom at Watergirl Quilt Co.

You will be able to enjoy the use of our:

• workstation tables; sit / stand, raise & lower mechanical
• chairs    NOTE: for added comfort, bring a seat cushion
• cutting mat at your work station
• cutting mats on large table
• use of irons (2 – 3) and ironing board
• use of our Prym Vario tool for inserting eyelets

Machine Rentals

Don’t feel like bringing your machine with you?  Rental machines are available (limited quantities).  Please contact the store directly to confirm current pricing and make arrangements. 

Lunch 

A light lunch (salad bar with variety of proteins, veggies and legumes; plus dessert) is included in the registration fee. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available.  While we do our best to accommodate dietary needs, guests with specialized diets are encouraged to bring their own food and snacks.

NOTE: You are welcome to bring you your own lunch / snacks to eat at your workstation.    Our fridge space is limited, so we suggest you make use of a thermal lunch bag.

Complimentary

Coffee and tea will be available in our kitchenette.  Please bring a travel mug or sealed cup to avoid any spillage.  Tap water in our classroom is drinkable.
