Bio: |
M-R (Michèle-Renée) is a domestic and longarm quilter based in Ottawa, Ontario. She began quilting while in university, shortly after designing and building her own IKEA-style captain’s bed. Her first project—an imperfect but much-loved “Irish Chain”—sparked a lasting passion. Her interest deepened while designing a meaningful sampler quilt as a wedding gift for her husband, Charles, though the project remains her oldest unfinished piece. Undeterred, she has continued quilting ever since, steadily refining her skills and talents by making more than 200 quilts. M-R is a co-founder and former President of the Ottawa Modern Quilt Guild and former co-President of the Ottawa Valley Quilt Guild. She has been a member of the international BeeSewcial quilt group for 10 years and has had many of her creations displayed at prestigious quilt shows. |
