Join Watergirl Quilt Co. for an 8-month Block of the Month program where you’ll dive into the art of wool appliqué and hand embroidery while creating a stunning 12-block project from start to finish.  Benefit from step-by-step instruction over 8 months with a skill-building approach that’s beginner-friendly and inspiring for experienced stitchers. There will be ample time between sessions to sit and slow-stitch the days away!

Class Project: Bird Watcher

Finished block size is approximately 8-1/4" x 8-1/4" and with all twelve blocks sewn together, this wall hanging finishes at 24" x 32" approximately.

By the end of the program, you’ll have:

• 12 completed embroidered wool blocks
• Inspiration and guidance for multiple layout options
• Ideas for finishing your blocks into a wall-hanging quilt

Skills To Learn: 

Throughout the program, you will:

• Work with felted wool fabric to create beautifully appliquéd shapes and
  learn wool appliqué techniques, from preparation to stitching
• Add personality and texture with hand embroidery embellishment
• Use 8 wt and 12 wt threads with confidence
• Learn how to choose the right needles for wool and embroidery
• Learn and practice 33 different embroidery stitches (yes, 33!)

Each month builds on the last, helping you grow your skills while enjoying the process of slow, creative stitching.

Recordings:

Class recording will be made available to all participants within 72 hours of class and can be accessed for up to 90 days. 

There will be stitching homework between classes.
